I ended up getting the ones that Jambo recommended and I've only just set them up.

Bloody lovely they are.

I need to be earning commission from Logitech as that's three people I know who've bought these now.

My pair are on loan at the moment.

They're a bit disappointing in the mid-tones. Best value for money, no argument. But at the end of the cliche, they're still PC speakers.

Acquired a half-decent amp and some old, but good, speakers for nout - and it is definetly a step up. Don't get your hopes up too much.

Shop around for the X-230s, I think I got them for about £25 4 years ago.

That's some ghetto setup.

I got these awesome speakers from Maplins for £15 (on sale) in TCR. Had to carry the heavy fuckers to Charing Cross. I forget the name I'll go check in a minute after I'm off the can. But they have deep sound and powerful bass. Awesome for videogames. Works especially well with Windows Media Player and some phat bass hip-hop.

Praobably going to invest in the speakers first, then at some point get an X-Fi.
